A backpack that reportedly belongs to former NBA star Allen Iverson containing $500,000 in jewelry has been stolen on Monday morning, according to ESPN and TMZ Sports.

The incident took place around 10:30 a.m. at the Sofitel Hotel in Philadelphia. Police was unable to identify who owned the backpack, but multiple reports say it belonged to the former Philadelphia 76ers icon.

The suspect is a black male, approximately 20 years of age, 6-feet tall and thin. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, a red shirt, dark-colored pants, and black and white sneakers.

The 44-year-old Iverson has been retired from the NBA game since 2010 but has been known to frequent The City of Brotherly Love plenty since last playing in the league, often-seen at Sixers games throughout the season.

The Virginia native last made the news on Monday when he released a statement offering condolences and an anecdote celebrating the life of Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash on Sunday morning after crashing into a Calabasas hillside.

Allen Iverson was present at the Wells Fargo Center for the Sixers' game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, witnessing LeBron James pass Bryant as the third all-time leading scorer. He has been known to bring his jewelry just about anywhere with him, a trend he's kept since his early days in the NBA.
