While the NBA offseason is mostly over, many spectators can expect a few fireworks in March. Per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Board of Governors have decided to approve the NBA trade deadline for March 25, roughly three months after the season's start date.

While the 2020-21 season will be slightly shortened to a 72-game slate in order to keep the timing on track for the following season, this window gives teams more than enough chances to see how their current rosters fare out against competition before needing to complete a trade.

In years past, the NBA trade deadline has usually occurred within the first two weeks of February.

The Board of Governors met on Thursday to also discuss a number of other topics from expanding active rosters for games to permanently putting the coach's challenge in play, which will surely have some additional rules pertaining to it this season.

Teams had to move quickly in this mini-offseason in order to achieve even a fraction of the goals they set out for themselves. With that in mind, the idea of a lot players being on the move closer to the deadline could become a reality.

For the most part, teams have already gotten underway with their respective seasons as the preseason continues and goes into the regular season start date on Dec. 22. The playing schedule will hold a different look as well as the league attempts to limit cross-country traveling due to COVID-19. The league as a whole did exceptionally well during their time in the NBA Disney bubble in Orlando, as not one player tested positive for the virus during that time.

Hopefully the same can be said for this season as teams attempt to try playing once more outside of the bubble.
