Colin Cowherd revealed his list of top-five NBA players 25 and under on Monday. And well, only two of the five qualify. On his show The Herd, Cowherd gave his list of “five young guys, 25 and under” that he could bet on. He proceeded to name Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic, and Jayson Tatum.
It's a good list of players. Except for the fact that three of those five NBA superstars are over 25 years old. Antetokounmpo and Jokic are both 27, and Embiid is 28. So he wasn't even really that close.
Twitter users, as they do, took the video clip and ran with it. Funhouse, who initially posted the clip, decided that wasn't enough and went back for more.
Exhaustive research like this is why my guy Colin comes into work four hours early every day.

One individual reminded everyone that, despite not technically qualifying for Cowherd's esteemed list, Giannis, an NBA Champion and former NBA MVP, has still accomplished quite a bit for his young age.

giannis being only 27 is kinda scary wit the accolades he has rn..

And it's not a Jayson Tatum tweet without an “he's only 19” joke.
He did have 19-year-old Jayson Tatum though, so at least he got that right

While we can laugh about Cowherd's mistake, his list shows that the NBA is in good hands. Giannis, Luka, Jokic, Tatum, and Embiid are all currently in the NBA Playoffs, with only Jokic on a team that's trailing in their respective series. It looks as if these five will be key cogs on winning teams for the next decade-plus. But Colin, a quick Google search never hurt anyone.
