Veteran point guard Jeremy Lin just won his first NBA championship, as he was a member of the Toronto Raptors squad that took down the three-peat seeking Golden State Warriors. Now, he's a free agent who's looking to get paid.
After suffering a knee injury back in 2017, Lin obviously hasn't been the same. He still averaged a respectable 10.7 points and 3.5 rebounds in 51 games for the Atlanta Hawks before being waived in February. He immediately joined the Raptors but had very little impact on the team as they carved their path to the title.
It's been two days since free agency opened, and Lin is still without a team. According to reports, he is willing to wait for a good offer, but if he doesn't get it, he might consider playing in Asia.

After his ‘Linsanity' season back with the New York Knicks in 2011, Lin has bounced off around the league as he had stints with the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Hornets, and the Brooklyn Nets before splitting last season with the Hawks and Raptors. If healthy, the 10-year veteran can still provide decent numbers. He's averaged double figures in scoring in all but two seasons of his career, and he can still be an effective starting or backup point guard depending on the team that he will play for.
However, aside from injury concerns, Lin is also a liability on defense. If any team will be interested in bringing him in, it will most likely be for the veteran's minimum or the mid-level exception at best. Something that he might not be willing to accept.
So don't be surprised if you see him playing in China or somewhere in Asia sometime this year.
