The Minnesota Timberwolves reportedly had a players-only meeting for their huge Game 6 matchup against the Grizzlies. However, that might not be the case. Timberwolves superstar Karl-Anthony Towns refuted that such a meeting happened in a fiery manner.

Warning: This quote contains profane language.

“No. We had a film session, just as a team. Ok. What happened there? See this is why I don't look at Twitter and sh*t, bro. Y'all be making up sh*t at any time, bro. I don't know what the hell happened. Alright, yeah, we watched film, we had practice yesterday. I guess that's a players only meeting. Yeah, we had practice.”

A players-only meeting would not have been a too big of a deal for the Timberwolves. The main drama it could have stirred is between the coach-player relationship. But Towns obviously does not want a false narrative being tossed around which is understandable. He also is gearing up for Minnesota's biggest game of the season as they aim to avoid elimination against the Grizzlies.

The last thing Karl-Anthony Towns wants for the Timberwolves is unnecessary drama in the locker room when the team needs to be focused on upsetting Memphis on Friday. The Timberwolves entered the postseason as underdogs against the Grizzlies, but have played an extremely competitive series with them.

Minnesota has an opportunity to force a Game 7 if they can pull off the win at home in Game 6.

As for the players-only meeting, it apparently was just a team film session and a practice according to Towns.
