Johnny Juzang, the UCLA star responsible for leading his team to an epic journey into the NCAA Tournament Final Four, has declared for the 2021 NBA Draft but will still maintain his college eligibility.

Juzang made the announcement on his Instagram and Twitter accounts, noting how wonderful the process has been. He also thanked the UCLA community and Bruins head coach Mick Cronin for accepting him into their institution and program.

“For many years, I’ve dreamt about playing professional basketball. But the journey to get to this point has truly been the beautiful part, crossing paths with such great people: coaches, mentors, and brothers. I'm proud to announce that I'm declaring for the NBA Draft, while retaining my collegiate eligibility,” Johnny Juzang shared.

Juzang guided UCLA to the Final Four, tallying 137 points in the entire tourney, which is just three points shy of Gail Goodrich's historic record. Against the top-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs, Juzang dropped 29 points–including the game-tying shot with 3.3 seconds left. However, their Cinderella story was put to an end by a miracle 40-foot shot by Jalen Suggs.

In a statement, Cronin promised to work closely with the 2o-year-old Juzang as he enters the NBA Draft.

“I will work closely with Johnny and his family on fact-finding and anything else we can do to support them in this process. I ask our fans to be understanding, as these young men all love UCLA but also deserve the right to explore their professional status. Johnny is a great young man and hopefully, we can all stand with him in this process together,” Cronin said
