Steve Kerr has come quite a long way. From being an NBA champion coach in his first season with the Golden State Warriors, the 56-year-old is now on the brink of his fourth title in eight years. He's been in his fair share of troublesome times as well, and it is clear that there has been some real growth for him through all this.

Warriors star Draymond Green can attest to this. The former Defensive Player of the Year recently spoke out about the major change he's seen in his coach. Green has been around since Kerr joined the Dubs in 2014, so he's been a first-hand witness to his coach's evolution:

“I think the number one change I've seen in Steve is his trust in his coaching staff,” Green said, via NBA on Twitter. “I think that's continued to grow. Not that he didn't always trust his coaching staff because he has. There's always been an open-door policy since the day he's walked in here, but on a day-to-day basis, you can just kinda see how he's delegated… One of my favorite things that Steve brings to the table is he is a guy that knows what he doesn't know.”

Apart from Kerr's willingness to trust his staff, Green also spoke out about how the Warriors coach has emerged as a steadying force for the squad, particularly when they need him the most:

“His confidence in knowing like, ‘We'll figure this out,'” Green said. “… There are times where we get a little rattled as a team. He's just right there. Steady force like, ‘Hey man, just calm down. Settle down.' And it wasn't always like that… You have coaches that gives players confidence, and you have coaches that don't. I think he has really grown in that area where he just gives guys confidence, and that's huge.”

Guys like Stephen Curry and Draymond Green have been integral to the success of the Warriors over the years but there's also no denying that they wouldn't have been as successful as they are without coach Steve Kerr.
