Kentucky junior power forward Marcus Lee is listed as one of 11 prospects who should return to school, after turning in one of the statistically worst performances of the NBA Combine in Chicago. He scored a -3.3 PER, and his statistics were a clear reflection of his performance for anyone watching him last week.
Draft Express delivered the following harsh — yet fair — judgement for Lee:
Article Continues BelowMarcus Lee: The Kentucky junior ranked statistically as the worst performer at the NBA Combine with a -3.3 PER, and the actual impression from watching him wasn't much different. Lee hasn't improved his body or skill-level in the least bit since arriving in Lexington, and has just an average feel for the game to compensate for that. Lee is in a difficult situation now, as he'll have to hope to be spoon-fed minutes over much more talented players for yet another season with an excellent recruiting class coming in at Kentucky. The alternatives, included going undrafted and playing in the D-League, aren't much more enticing. In a perfect world, he would be able to transfer to a lower level college without having to sit out a year, but that's unlikely to be an option.

Over the course of two combine games, Lee was only able to notch a total of four points and three rebounds in approximately 35 minutes of play. But despite that performance, Lee continues to remain intently focused on staying in the NBA Draft, saying that he is “85 to 87 percent” sure that he has hung up his Kentucky jersey for the final time.
Last season, Lee averaged 6.4 points, six rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. The prospect has said that he wouldn't mind playing D-League ball. With last week's performance, that looks like it might be a very realistic perspective for the former Wildcat.
