According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Brooklyn Nets guard D'Angelo Russell is not sure when he'll be back on the court after the arthroscopic surgery conducted on his right knee.

“I’m feeling better and better every day. So yeah, it’s cool,” Russell said to Lewis. “I don’t know [the timeline]. Really, honestly I’m just trying to stay healthy and get as strong as I can before I get back out on the floor. It’s definitely not something I want to rush. …. I’m not really forcing anything, just doing what the trainers tell me day in and day out and go from there, see how I feel every day.”

When Russell got injured and had the subsequent surgery earlier this month, it was just another big blow to the Nets, who were already missing a point guard after Jeremy Lin ruptured the patella tendon of his right knee on the first game of the season. Lin is not expected to return this year.

Spencer Dinwiddie has filled in rather admirably for Russell at the point guard position. In eight starts, he has averaged 15.6 points on 38.9 percent shooting from beyond the arc, 3.0 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game.

While D'Angelo Russell's injury is not as severe as Lin's, any time missed for Nets players drastically impact the outlook of the team's season. After making some respectable offseason moves, the Nets looked to improve this year.

But with Russell now out for the foreseeable future, that outlook could change rather quickly.
