Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett have yet to take the floor for the New Orleans Pelicans and New York Knicks, respectively, even in Summer League play. Still, the infancy of their NBA careers hasn't stopped fans of Duke University's historic rookie tandem from buying up merchandise like both players have already established themselves as stars.

According to sports-licensing firm Fanatics, as relayed by Lisa Fickenscher and Nicolas Vega of the New York Post, Williamson and Barrett have sold more jerseys and shirts than any draftees in history.

Over the first five days after the Pelicans made him the No. 1 pick Williamson sold more $110 Nike jerseys and $32 t-shirts than every other first-round selection in this year's draft combined. Barrett couldn't come close to matching his former teammate's total, but made his presence felt at an all-time level regardless buy out-selling Lonzo Ball, the previous record-holder prior to he and Williamson, two to one in the five days after he was drafted by the Knicks.

Neither player's immediate popularity comes as a surprise.

Arguably the most productive freshman in NCAA history and an athlete unlike any the sports world has ever seen at 6-foot-7, 285 pounds, he averaged 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game last season en route to winning consensus National Player of the Year honors. Barrett, the favorite to be the top overall draft pick before last season tipped off, was no slouch, either. A consensus First Team All-American as a freshman, Barrett averaged 22.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game for the Blue Devils as a freshman.
