The New Orleans Pelicans may have allowed the lowly Cleveland Cavaliers to go 8-of-8 from the three-point line in the first quarter of their matchup on Wednesday night, but Anthony Davis is at least showing why he is one of the best players in the league.

Cue all of the talk about how the Pelicans don't deserve Davis and that he should go to a contender.
On the year, Davis is averaging 28.7 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.6 blocks and 1.8 steals over 37 minutes per game while shooting 51.1 percent from the floor, 31.5 percent from three-point range and 79.7 percent from the free-throw line.
The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Kentucky, was originally selected by New Orleans with the first overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft.

He has since developed into one of the game's brightest stars, making the All-Star team each year since his rookie campaign.
However, with the Pelicans continuing to lose and Davis getting closer to free agency, there is rampant speculation that New Orleans will be forced to trade Davis between now and the summer, with the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics emerging as the two most likely destinations for the big man should the Pels deal him.
To be fair, Davis has not given any indication that he wants to be traded.
