New Orleans Pelicans guard JJ Redick has never missed the playoffs in his NBA career, but his 13-year streak is in serious jeopardy this year on a young Pelicans team that does not appear to be playoff-ready in the rugged Western Conference.

Of course, New Orleans is relying heavily on No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson to push the team into the postseason, and Redick knows this, which is why he had this to say to the rookie regarding his playoff streak:

“Don't (expletive) this up for me,” Redick says he told Williamson, according to Jeff Zilgitt of USA TODAY Sports. “He got it.”

It's hard not to get that.

The Pelicans signed Redick to a two-year deal this offseason.

Redick spent the last two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers, making it to the second round of the playoffs both times. He is coming off a 2018-19 campaign in which he played 76 games and averaged 18.1 points, 2.7 assists and 2.4 rebounds over 31.3 minutes per game while shooting 44.0 percent from the floor, 39.7 percent from 3-point range and 89.4 percent from the free-throw line.
