The New Orleans Pelicans are widely expected to draft Duke high-flyer Zion Williamson with the No. 1 overall pick in Thursday's draft and the youngster has some big individual goals once he gets to the NBA.
Williamson says he wants to win Rookie of the Year, MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and eventually become a Hall of Famer in the NBA.
“I think like everything, MVP, Rookie of the Year and eventually possibly Defensive Player of the Year, Hall of Famer,” Williamson said, via Adam Zagoria of Forbes. “I think if you don't hold yourself to those standards or try to carry yourself as such, I don't know what you're striving for.”

Although the betting odds haven't been released yet, Williamson will likely be the heavy favorite to win the 2020 Rookie of the Year award. The Pelicans reportedly traded superstar big man Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers this past weekend, which means Williamson is now the new face of the Pelicans organization.
In his lone season at Duke, Williamson averaged 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and put on a show with his insane dunks. The lefty shot 68.0 percent from the field, 33.8 percent from beyond the arc and 64.0 percent from the free-throw line. Williamson's perimeter shooting is the trait he needs to improve on once he gets to the league.
Zion has all the physical tools to be a perennial All-Star with the Pelicans.
