After months of anticipation, Zion Williamson made his NBA debut for the New Orleans Pelicans. Although he didn't score in the first quarter, Williamson scored his first career field goal in the NBA on a putback layup attempt.
Pelicans' guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker missed a floater attempt in the paint, but Williamson was right there for the offensive rebound and putback.

Those two points will hopefully be the first of many more in his career, as the Pelicans immediately drafted a new face of the franchise to replace the outgoing Anthony Davis.
Williamson was a no-brainer top overall pick in the 2019 draft, as he was both a staggering athlete with some of the most incredible plays in college basketball history as well as a savant-level basketball mind ā using his elite athleticism to impact the game on both ends of the court.
While not a trademark dunk, NBA fans will remember Zion Williamsonās first NBA points with the Pelicans with fondness.
