Tim Hardaway Jr. may be on his way to playing for his former team, the New York Knicks, especially after signing a four-year, $71 million offer sheet Thursday. Being a restricted free agent though, the Atlanta Hawks have the ability to match anything offered to him.

However, Hardaway might need to start packing his bags now and prepare for his return to The Big Apple.

The Hawks are expected to hoard a lot of young players and assets in order to speed up their rebuilding process. There is no question that Hardaway is a talented player, but he is far from being a franchise player type of talent.

With the 25-year-old Michigan product probably making his way to the Knicks once again, he would have the opportunity to play a lot of minutes beside Carmelo Anthony, should he remain with the team beyond this summer, and talented big man Kristaps Porzingis.

He would provide them with reliable perimeter shooting, which they badly need, and help spread the floor for the two aforementioned players, giving them more room to operate inside the paint.
