A recent Instagram post from the New York Knicks account was intended to hype up its supporters for the upcoming season. However, it appeared to rub off guard Courtney Lee the wrong way, further fueling the flames on the rumors of his imminent departure from New York.
Lee himself responded to the post, and appeared to take issue on the fact that he was omitted from the photo.

To be fair to Lee, he does have a point here. There were a total of nine players on the collage, including rookie Kevin Knox who has yet to play a single minute for the Knicks. Lee is also the only projected starter that was not included in the photo.

Lee first arrived on the scene in New York in 2016, signing a four-year, $48 million deal with the franchise. In his two seasons with the Knicks, the 32-year-old veteran has averaged 11.4 points, 1.4 three-pointers, 3.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 steals in 31.2 minutes as a starter.
Despite his contributions to the squad, Lee was considered as a movable trade candidate for the better part of last season. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard even addressed these rumors, claiming that he was not bothered by them at all.
Presently though, Lee may not hold the same sentiment. His comment saying, “there I go,” may be interpreted as his unofficial announcement of his impending exit. Adding the LOL emoji did imply that he may have been kidding, but as they always say, all jokes are half meant.
