New York Knicks big man Enes Kanter is not happy about his reduced role and may want a trade, but head coach David Fizdale wants the center to know that the team values him.

Here's the thing with Enes Kanter: he should have expected this, and he had a chance to leave New York last summer by opting out of the final year of his contract, but instead, he chose to stay.
The NBA has gradually phased out guys like Kanter, big men who can't stretch the floor and can't defend in space. That's not to say that Kanter doesn't have value in the right situation, but finding him consistent minutes on the Knicks roster is tough.
Article Continues BelowWe know what Kanter can score in the post and can rebound, but that's pretty much it.
In spite of his massive size at 6-foot-11 and 250 pounds, Kanter is not much of a rim protector, averaging just 0.4 blocks per game both this season and for his career. He is also easily exploitable in pick-and-rolls, as he just does not have the lateral quickness to switch out on the perimeter.
He has very little range on his jumper, and while he is actually a very good free-throw shooter, he does not get to the line nearly enough to actually make use out of it, as he is averaging just 2.9 free-throw attempts per game this season (2.7 for his career).
With the Knicks building toward the future, Kanter is surely a goner in free agency this summer, so they might as well trade him now and actually get something for him.
