It's official. New York Knicks guard Derrick Rose is not going to be coming home with the 2020-21 Sixth Man of the Year trophy. According to reports, Rose came in third in the voting behind the Utah Jazz pair of Jordan Clarkson (winner) and runner-up Joe Ingles.
This report comes via Mark Stein of the New York Times:
Clarkson gets 65 first-place votes to Ingles' 34. New York's Derrick Rose finished third in the Sixth Man balloting.

Rose received just one first-place vote, which put him at a (very) distant third behind Clarkson and Ingles. The Knicks veteran was never expected to win the Sixth Man of the Year title, but the mere fact that he was recognized speaks volumes of the type of season he's had in New York.

You also have to note that it wasn't until February that Rose made the move to the Knicks. It did not take long before the former league MVP was able to adjust to life with his new team, and he has since flourished in his role under coach Tom Thibodeau.
There's no denying that Rose is no longer the dominant force he once was during his younger years. However, he has emerged as a key piece for the Knicks and their playoff aspirations this season.
When he arrived in New York, he was seen as a veteran presence that would aid in the development of the Knicks' younger players. However, Rose has proven to be much more than that. The 32-year-old has established himself as one of the best players in the league coming off the bench, and the fact that he was named a finalist for this year's Sixth Man title serves as a testament to this fact.
