Enes Kanter of the New York Knicks was brutally honest on how he feels about his team's “messed up” handling of his minutes. After their 114-110 loss to the Houston Rockets, Kanter — who did not play a single minute — shared that the coaching staff told him that he' will start. Per Mike Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic.
“What they're doing to me is pretty messed up. I deserve better. You either play me or let me play.”
Enes Kanter says he was told this morning by the Knicks he would start tonight vs the Rockets. He got a DNP instead.

Though for the season, Kanter averages 26.3 minutes per game, a closer look at his minutes would give light as to why he feels mishandled by the Knicks coaching staff. There are games wherein he'll play right around his average and at times way above it. There are some games, however, wherein he would just play around 15-20 minutes and be taken out of the game not to return again.
Knicks head coach David Fizdale has reiterated that he wants to try out different combinations to see what works best. This is Fizdale's first year as head coach of the Knicks, and the organization has given him the green light to do whatever he feels best.
But given Kanter's comments, Fizdale and the Knicks might need to reevaluate their ways. Kanter, the third overall pick in 2011, has shown flashes of brilliance when given the opportunity. He has proven that he could log in a 20-point, 15-rebound night when given the minutes.
