The New York Knicks haven't made the playoffs since 2013, but team owner James Dolan says things are about to change next year.

During an interview on ESPN Radio on Tuesday, Dolan said that he is optimistic about the team's free agency, even pointing out that there are already players — presumably big-name free agents — who wants to come to New York and be part of the Knickerbockers.

He then went on to say that the team will surely undergo “dramatic change” that will push them to playoff contention.

The Knicks have the cap space to sign two max contract players next season, and based on what James Dolan said, they seem firm to use that to their advantage to totally rebuild the team.

Dolan also emphasized that New York's young core won't be the team's centerpieces come next season, suggesting that top-tier stars will indeed come to The Big Apple.

Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant and Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving have been linked with Knicks for some time now, and Dolan is probably hinting that they have the two players locked to move to New York — once known as the Mecca of basketball.

The Knicks currently own a 13-54 record on the season.
