Over the past couple of weeks, it has been made apparent that the New York Knicks would like to move on from their center Enes Kanter.

According to Marc Berman of New York Post, however, the team will not trade Enes Kanter for Zach Randolph of the Sacramento Kings unless they receive another asset within the deal.

Kanter was benched a few weeks ago by Knicks head coach David Fizdale. His play was poor, especially his defensive effort and fundamentals.

The team is also looking to lose as many games as possible to gain the top draft pick in the 2019 NBA draft, featuring Duke players Zion Williamson, Cam Reddish and RJ Barrett.

Kanter has also been in the news as he did not go to London, England for their international matchup against the Washington Wizards.

His relationship with the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has dissipated after Kanter spoke about the country's utter misgivings. Kanter is concerned that his life may be in danger if he travels across the Pacific.

“I talked to the front office. I’m not going. I’m going to stay here and practice,” Kanter told Marc Berman in a separate report. “It’s pretty sad. All this stuff affects my career in basketball. I want to help my team win, but because of one lunatic guy I can’t even go there to do my job. It’s pretty sad. They got a lot of spies there. I can get killed pretty easy.”

Kanter, on the season, has averaged 14.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, and two assists per game while shooting 54.3 percent from the field and 35 percent from beyond the arc. Kanter has always been a top offensive talent, and he would make the Kings an even bigger offensive juggernaut.

The Knicks are now 10-31 on the season and sit in the 14th spot of the NBA's Eastern Conference. They will face off against the Indiana Pacers next at home.
