It was a fun Wednesday night all around in Denver. The Nuggets easily blew out the Phoenix Suns, 134-111 on the strength of Gary Harris’ 36 points. On top of that, none other than Denver Broncos legend and current general manager John Elway was in attendance to witness the blowout win. Elway also got into the action as he dusted off his cannon of an arm to throw a football into the ecstatic Denver crowd.

Elway is no stranger to sitting courtside during Nuggets games. The two-time Super Bowl-winning Broncos quarterback is royalty in the Mile High City, and he's finally getting some time off with the football season over.

Unfortunately, the Broncos didn’t have the greatest year this season as they finished just 5-11, dead last in the AFC West. Quarterback troubles plagued the team all year, with no one really able to cement the starting role among Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler, and Paxton Lynch. Based on how the 57-year-old threw that football into the Nuggets’ home crowd, he might've had a better shot playing QB.

But after the Broncos failed to make it to the playoffs for the second straight year, John Elway and the rest of Denver might get to watch the Nuggets play in the postseason for the first time in five years given how well they've been playing this season.
