It's safe to say that people are intrigued by the Western Conference Finals.
TNT announced the ratings for Game 1 of the WCF between the Golden State Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder and the numbers did not disappoint. The game averaged 8.7 million viewers while peaking at 10.6 million, making it the most watched show on cable on Monday night. It was the highest-rated Conference Finals Game 1 since 2011.
Furthermore, the ratings saw a 37 percent spike from the 2014 WCF, the last the time the series was broadcast on TNT.
Article Continues BelowConsidering the game delivered as expected, it's no surprise the matchup brought in huge ratings. The Warriors led by double digits for a good portion of the night before the Thunder stormed back in the fourth quarter to deliver an upset on Golden State's home floor. Oklahoma City's 108-102 victory over Golden State in Game 1 marked just the third time all season long that the Warriors had lost at Oracle Arena.
When you factor in that the Eastern Conference Finals matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors is likely a one-sided affair, all eyes will be on the Western Conference Finals for the next couple of weeks.
