Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook and Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker have been named the NBA Players of the Week for Week 25 action:

For the Thunder, Westbrook averaged 22.0 points, 12.7 rebounds and 17.0 assists. OKC went 3-0.

Walker, meanwhile, put up 34.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists. The Hornets went 3-1.

Player of the Week honors don't mean that much to Westbrook and Walker, though. Both players just care about winning. The Thunder have already clinched a playoff spot, while the Hornets are fighting for their playoff lives. Charlotte is in ninth place and one game back of the Detroit Pistons for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East.

Russell Westbrook averaged a triple-double for an entire season for the third year in a row. The former MVP is one of the most special players in NBA history and has made what was once thought to be an impossible feat seem easy.

Kemba Walker, who becomes a free agent this summer, is trying to focus on getting his team to the postseason. The All-Star point guard has only been to the playoffs twice in his NBA career. So, the Player of the Week awards are nice, but both stars have bigger goals in mind.
