Oklahoma City Thunder power forward Mitch McGary has received an additional 10 game suspension, bringing the total to 15 games to start the season due to non-compliance with the league's drug policy, league sources said.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, the violation isn’t believed to be yet another positive test, but rather a failure to live up to procedural guidelines set forth in the program.

McGary, 24, was previously suspended five games for violation of the league’s policy in July.

It is firmly believed that the Thunder intends this to be the end of McGary's stint with the franchise. At this point, OKC is looking to rid themselves of the Michigan alum, rather than finding a valuable asset in return as his stock in the league has plummeted due to his various sanctions.

After his incident in July, McGary released a statement through the Thunder's website:

“I clearly made a mistake, and for that, I apologize to the organization, my teammates, and our fans. I realize there are only so many opportunities given to you and I need to make sure that, as a person and as a player, I take accountability and ensure that this does not happen again.”

The 6-foot-10 forward had also failed a drug test at his alma mater and would have risked his junior season had he not entered the 2014 NBA Draft.

Whether he stays with the Thunder or is released and picked up on waivers by another team, Mitch McGary would serve his 15-game suspension without pay a soon as he's on an NBA roster.
