On Sunday night, Russell Westbrook led the Oklahoma City Thunder to their fifth straight victory with a 101-92 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Not only did he help his team improve their record to 13-8 for the season, he also achieved a feat last done 27 years ago.
By finishing with 28 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 assists on the night, the 28-year-old UCLA product became the first player to notch five consecutive triple-doubles since Michael Jordan made seven straight back in 1989.

His performance also pushed his season average to 31.2 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 11.2 assists per game. This comes after he was just recently named the Western Conference's Player of the Month for November and replicated Oscar Robertson‘s record of averaging double digits in three statistical categories entering December.
At the rate he's going, it won't be surprising if he'll able to surpass Jordan's streak and even win more awards by the end of the regular season.
