As early as July 1, Rudy Gay may find himself a new home in the Sooner State.

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical stated that the former Sacramento Kings forward will be entertaining meetings for his likely suitors in Texas over the weekend, with the Oklahoma City Thunder apparently seeing the 10-year veteran as a good fit for the team.

Despite having recently crowned MVP Russell Westbrook running the show, the Thunder were dead last in the NBA this past season in three-point shooting percentage (32.7 percent) and just 11th in scoring with 106.6 points per game. Westbrook needs all the help he can get from OKC's starting squad, and Gay certainly makes for a suitable replacement over Andre Roberson in the small forward position.

However, Gay suffered a torn Achilles tendon earlier in January, which means he definitely has a serious injury as an added baggage to his age. Nonetheless, the 30-year-old remains a reliable offensive weapon when healthy.

Gay averaged 18.7 points on 45.5 percent field-goal shooting along with 6.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game this previous season, and with those numbers still pretty much at par with his career averages. He even saw an uptick in his efficiency from beyond the arc, with his 37.2 percent three-point shooting mark being a significant improvement from his 34.5 percent career-wide clip.
