The Oklahoma City Thunder witnessed a potentially scary injury take place on Wednesday night, the day before Thanksgiving, in a game against the Golden State Warriors. Guard Hamidou Diallo elevated for a defensive rebound early in the fourth quarter, but came down awkwardly and dangerously.
The replay showed that Diallo rolled his left ankle pretty severely upon landing, then appeared to roll up on his leg after some incidental contact with a Warriors player. Diallo had to be stretched off the court, and while there wasn't anything visual that would cause immediate concern, the fact that Diallo required a stretcher to leave the court left a quiet murmur among fans in Oracle Arena simply hoping for the best.

Immediately after the game, Brett Dawson of The Athletic reported that the Thunder physicians have ruled out all severe lower body injuries for Diallo. The rookie guard wasn't out of the clear until the morning of Thanksgiving Day, when the Thunder diagnosed Diallo with an ankle sprain, saying he'll be re-evaluated in 10 days.
Diallo, the 45th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, has played in 16 of the Thunder's 17 games this season, averaging 6.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.9 assists on 47 percent shooting. Hopefully, Diallo makes a speedy recovery from his ankle sprain and gets back on the court to help the Thunder, who have won 11 of their last 13 games and have climbed to the fourth overall seed with their 11-6 record.
