The Oklahoma City Thunder have been rather popular with NBA fans as of late. Despite being in the early stages of the rebuild, fans have been rooting for the likable characters on the team. From Josh Giddey to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to Luguentz Dort, OKC is filled with many likable players that endeared themselves to fans.

Now, NBA fans have more reasons to root for the OKC organization. Eric Jay Santos, an American music producer of Portuguese descent, emailed all thirty NBA teams after his song reached #1 in his home country. Almost all of the teams ignored his email… except the Thunder. They sent him a heartwarming letter congratulating him and sending him a picture of one of the OKC lockers with his name, earning some great reactions from fans.

It's always great to see NBA teams go out of their way to show appreciation for their fans. As Santos noted in his Reddit post about this incident, the Thunder didn't really have to do anything with his email. In fact, most teams probably get more than their fair share of emails like this. For Katie and the rest of the OKC organization to go above and beyond to honor a fan's request is certainly heartwarming.

Santos perhaps picked the right time to become a Thunder fan. The team just drafted the crazy-long unicorn Chet Holmgren in the 2022 NBA Draft. Holmgren will be joining a promising young core that Sam Presti hopes becomes the next dynasty of the future. It will be fun to see how this team evolves as they continue to grow together.

EDIT: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated Santos as a Portuguese singer instead of an American music producer of Portuguese heritage. It also incorrectly stated that Santos was given the memorabilia pictured on his tweet. The article has been been edited to correct these errors.
