The addition of Anthony has the potential to make a huge impact for the Thunder as it provides them a third proven scorer alongside reigning league MVP Russell Westbrook and All-Star forward Paul George. This newly formed trio may quickly prove to be a formidable force in the Western Conference that could become one of the top challengers to the Golden State Warriors this upcoming season.
In fact, this move was made in direct correlation to dethrone the Warriors, who are coming off an NBA playoff record with a 16-1 mark in this year's playoffs that included sweeping through the Western Conference.
This also shifts more star power to the West that has also seen George, Jimmy Butler, and Paul Millsap all make moves to the conference this past summer. Ultimately, this brings plenty more anticipation and excitement toward what could unfold in the 2017-18 campaign.
