Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George is known for his scoring explosions, like on Saturday night when he outscored the Utah Jazz by himself in the third quarter:

George dropped 22 points in the period as opposed to just 20 for the Jazz.

On the year, George is averaging a career-high 25.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 2.1 steals over 35 minutes per game while shooting 44.7 percent from the floor, 38.2 percent from three-point range, and 83.4 percent from the free-throw line.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate basketball at Fresno State University, was originally selected by the Indiana Pacers with the 10th overall pick of the 2010 NBA Draft.

He played in 61 games during his rookie campaign, averaging 7.8 points, 3.7 boards, and one steal per game.

The following year, George became a full-time starter for the Pacers, and by his third season, George was an All-Star after registering 17.4 points, 7.6 boards, 4.1 assists, and 1.8 steals across 37.6 minutes a night, making 41.9 percent of his field-goal attempts, 36.2 percent of his long-range tries, and 80.7 percent of his foul shots.

A gruesome leg injury while playing for Team USA during the summer of 2014 set him back a bit, as he missed almost the entire 2014-15 campaign, but he has since returned to form.

Paul George was dealt to the Thunder during the 2017 offseason, as he had informed the Pacers he would not be re-signing with them the following year.

Overall, George has made five All-Star teams and appears to be well on his way to a sixth appearance this season.

Oklahoma City entered Saturday night's action with a record of 20-10.
