Russell Westbrook is nearing another show-stopping triple-double season after a 44-point, 16-rebound performance in a loss to the Golden State Warriors last night, but besides showing he can muster the 55-year-old feat for a second consecutive season, he'll also partake in a rather odd club.

The Oklahoma City Thunder dynamo is in line to become only the third player to lead the league in field goals attempted, but rank outside of the top-5 in points per game, per Reddit user sip-em_bears.

The only others to have done so are Antoine Walker, finishing 10th in the league in scoring in 2002 and Alex English in 1989, where he finished just outside, ranking sixth in the league.

Westbrook led the league in scoring, but this time around, his inefficiencies have caught up to him. Yes, he is shooting a much better percentage from the field at a solid 45.2 percent, but his free-throw attempts have gone down by 3.2 since last season, as well as his shot attempts from the field (2.8 less than last season), compounded by the fact that his free-throw percentage has greatly declined.

The reigning MVP went from shooting a career-best 84.5 percent from the foul line to regressing immensely, making only 73.7 percent of his attempts at the charity stripe — 4.3 percent less than his worst season at 78 percent in 2009-10.

Yet despite of this, Westbrook will likely go down as one of the NBA's most well-rounded players if he can notch another triple-double season by hauling in another 37 rebounds within the next three games of the season.
