Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder are in the middle of a playoff race and are completely bought into this year.

But after the morning shootaround before the Thunder's game against the Houston Rockets, Westbrook was forced to think a few years back to answer a question.

He asked what he can learn from the 2014-15 playoff race and apply to this year, to which he gave a pretty simple answer.

“What year is it? What year is it? Perfect”

After that awkward question the media scrum was ended and Westbrook left the interview. Now it was probably a decent question to ask after how that season ended, but still a weird thing to bring up at this point of the season, especially with a lot of different players on this team.

Of course in the 2014-15 playoff race was the Westbrook show after Kevin Durant underwent surgery and was shut down for the rest of the season.

Westbrook kept them in the playoff race, but a four-game losing streak at the beginning of the April really cost them. They finished with the exact same record as the New Orleans Pelicans and were tied for the 8th seed. The Pelicans won the tiebreaker and the Thunder's season was over.

It ultimately led to Scott Brooks firing and the beginning of the end for Durant and Westbrook together as teammates.

This year the Thunder are in the 7th spot in a very tight Western Conference playoff race. They are only 1.5 games ahead of the Clippers though who sit in the 9th spot, so this is going to be a very tight race all the way to end the season.

Even though Westbrook didn't answer the questions about that season, there is no doubt there is probably some doubt starting to creep in.
