Oklahoma City Thunder big man Steven Adams has just admitted to an unconventional, and rather unhygienic tactic he p has been known to utilize during games. According to the 25-year-old he has in the past used his long hair as an in-game weapon to purposely irritate opposing players.

Adams admitted to the dirty deed when speaking to the kids of his own basketball camp. This is via Hamish McNeilly of Stuff.

“One had asked Adams how sweaty his hair got during NBA games. The Oklahoma City Thunder player confirmed it got very sweaty and ‘it is real gross.'”

“However, when it was tied in a ponytail he used it to his own advantage, flicking the sweat-soaked hair at defenders. ‘It whips them in the eye and they get really mad,' he said.”

Just imagine boxing out for a rebound, using all your strength to fend off a 7-foot mammoth, when a clump of thick, sweaty hair hits you smack in the face. Even worse — it gets you in the eye and all of a sudden, your vision is compromised. And worst — you get some in your mouth!

This scenario would definitely aggravate even the most resolute of basketball players. It is literally a dirty tactic wherein the victim absorbs all the germs from Adams' hair. Who knows when he last washed them?

Adams' admission here may not have been the smartest of moves on the part of the New Zealand native. If this does not place an unnecessary target on his own back, then the fact that he has demonstrated such an unsportsmanlike act to a bunch of kids definitely does not work in the favor of Adams.
