Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook is known around the NBA for his ultra-competitive, high-intensity attitude. Whether it’s on the court, in the pressroom, or through his wacky fashion choices, Brodie always makes it a point to let his feelings known to the world.
In a word, you could say he is savage.
Of course, this is being said in jest because a video of the former MVP blocking 21 Savage’s lay-up has slowly been making the rounds on Twitter and Instagram.

Westbrook not only swats the rapper’s shot straight back down to Earth but stares him down emphatically for about three seconds. Savage, for his part, just walks away and pretends nothing happened — although he is visibly disoriented after the incident.

Despite this just being an exhibition game for James Harden’s charity event, the seven-time NBA All-Star seems to already be in playoff form.
After a disappointing first-round exit last season, he and fellow superstar, Paul George, who had just re-signed with the Thunder, are once again looking to lead the team into championship contention.
Although they did lose their third option in Carmelo Anthony, the team did bring in young players like Dennis Schroder, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, and Nerlens Noel to buoy the team’s chances. One can even argue that they’re a more complete team now than before. Still, regardless of who the Thunder acquires, they’ll only go as far as Westbrook can take them.
It may just be a small sample size, but OKC fans can smile because even in a simple tune-up game, Russell Westbrook is ready to defend the court.
