Steven Adams has been busy this offseason promoting his autobiography, “My Life, My Fight,” one that includes a hint of his guitar-playing skills.
The Oklahoma City Thunder big man hesitantly showed a few of the licks he runs down during his free time in a candid interview with New Zealand TV.
While the 25-year-old is far from a natural virtuoso, his fingers can manage a sweet-sounding island vibe with his string-plucking, percussive sound on the acoustic guitar.
Adams even politely asked if the guitar provided to him (made of sultry dreadnaught) belonged to one of the members of the backstage crew, as he proceeded to use his huge knuckles to provide some rhythm to his rather peaceful 10-second run.

“I'm real nervous,” said Adams, known more for his boxouts and opportunistic scores at the rim than for his hobbies. “I haven't done this, this is strange.”
Asked to play one more time, the Kiwi politely declined, once again explaining the situation had caught him off guard.
“I can't (do) this is, (it's) weird bro,” said an endearing Adams. “My fingers are nervous as.”
Maybe in another life, Adams might have been reincarnated as the 6-foot-6 Buckethead, but he has been doing just fine with a four-year, $100 million deal for the Thunder — now set to star in a bigger role with Carmelo Anthony out of town.
