The Orlando Magic made Paolo Banchero the no. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, but not everyone is a big believer of the former Duke star. In fact, it looks like Sacramento Kings fans are his biggest haters.

On Saturday during the Magic's Summer League game against the Kings, Sacramento fans in attendance jeered at Banchero and shout ā€œoverratedā€ chants at the rookie.

This is probably normal trash talk in basketball, and hey, it's easy to say that Kings fans are just trying to distract Paolo Banchero to take him out of his game. However, it will take more than just rude remarks to actually get into the head of the Magic rookie.

Banchero was sensational for the most part of the contest, showing both his offense and defense late in the first quarter of the game alone. He had 19 points through three quarters, and while he can do a better job taking care of the ball, he has shown more than enough to prove to everyone that he's the real deal.

The Magic's rookie forward knows very well that the ā€œoverratedā€ chants won't be the first and last time he'll hear and see people go at him. However, as he said before, he is used to having a target on his back and so he will simply embrace the challenge that comes his way.

ā€œI’ve kinda always had a target on my back since high school. Going to Duke, it was the same thing. I was a projected top pick so every guy I went against wanted to get the best of me. It is going to be the same thing in summer league and it is going to be the same thing in the NBA. I just gotta be ready for it and accept the challenge,ā€ Banchero said.
