Another day, another highlight-reel dunk from Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon. Needless to say, there is little reason to doubt Gordon's status as one of the NBA's premier dunkers.
He backed up that notion with a spectacular reverse windmill during the second quarter against the Indiana Pacers.

Perhaps Gordon was giving fans an early taste of what is to come in this year's NBA Slam Dunk Contest after announcing his bid last week. Although his invitation may have been a bit delayed, it was only a matter of time before it became official.

He has managed to overcome a rocky start to his career by becoming one of the promising young forwards in the league. The former fourth overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft is averaging 18.3 points, 8.3 points, and nearly a steal per game.
That said, he would likely want to put the stamp on a career-year year by finally capturing the evasive Slam Dunk title. Gordon participated in his first dunk contest in 2016 and finished as the runner-up to Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine in what was labeled as one of the best contests of all time.
Gordon tried to finish the job the following year but was unable to make it past the first round. That said, Gordon will be looking to finally put an end to his dunk contest woes. As evidenced by his recent in-game dunk, he is more than ready for this year's festivities.
