Thursday night marked DeMarcus Cousins' first return to Sacramento after the Kings traded him back in February. The game was a much-anticipated one for Kings fans, as the All-Star center spent more than six seasons with the team. During the player introductions inside the Golden 1 Center, they made sure they gave their former player a warm welcome.
When Cousins’ name was called, he received a lot of cheers from the home crowd, who wanted to thank him for competing hard for them during his stint with the Kings. The PA announcer also named him an Olympic and community champion, recognizing his continued efforts to improve the lives of many residents in Sacramento.

The Kings organization's gesture is truly a classy one, as it shows that even if the team's partnership with DeMarcus Cousins did not end as desired, they still value his contributions, and his high level of play for them.
With Pelicans power forward Anthony Davis sitting out the game, the Kings faithful have plenty of opportunity to watch Cousins play extended minutes, which would truly give out a nostalgic feeling as well. Given all the ups and downs Cousins had with the Kings, it's a good sight to see that he received a standing ovation, and felt the love from the fans he represented for more than six years.
