Butler missed both games this week, but he was able to participate in most of Tuesday's practice. MRI scans that were taken on Monday revealed no serious damage, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps.
Article Continues BelowThe Sixers could use Butler's services, but they're likely being cautious with his return. If he is not cleared for Saturday's game against the Nuggets, Corey Brewer will likely draw another start. T.J. McConnell and Landry Shamet could see upticks in their usage rates as well.
In his 28 appearances with the Sixers this season (all starts), Butler has racked up averages of 19.0 points on 47.5 percent shooting from the field (38.6 percent from beyond the arc), 4.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.9 steals in 32.1 minutes per outing.
In other Sixers-related injury news, Markelle Fultz remains without a timetable as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury. Zhaire Smith, who's been out of commission all season due to a Jones fracture in his foot, was recently assigned to Philadelphia's G-League squad, so it appears he is nearing a return. Joel Embiid, who scored 33 points in Wednesday's 122-120 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, will be held out of Saturday's matchup for rest, as he's been experiencing a bit of tightness in his back.
Saturday's Sixers-Nuggets game is scheduled to tip inside the Pepsi Center at 9:00 p.m. ET.
