As Anthony Davis trade speculation ramps up, there is one intriguing possibility: the New Orleans Pelicans sending Davis to the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons. According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, however, such a trade is highly unlikely.
Both Ben Simmons and Anthony Davis are represented by agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports. While Philly could put together a good trade package for Davis starting with Simmons, Paul would likely not want his clients to be swapped in a deal.
Article Continues BelowUnless you have been under a rock all of Monday, you know that Anthony Davis has requested a trade from the Pelicans. Davis, one of the best players in the NBA, reportedly wants to be traded to a championship contender. The Sixers fit that bill, but again, exchanging Ben Simmons for Davis isn't in the cards for Rich Paul.
Simmons, the 2018 Rookie of the Year, is averaging 16.6 points, 9.5 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game this season for the Sixers, who enter Monday with a record of 32-18. While a frontcourt duo of Anthony Davis and Joel Embiid would be lethal and fun to watch, it's most likely not going to happen.
Philadelphia, which could put together a fairly competitive offer for Davis, currently has no plans to pursue a deal, sources said. Rich Paul of Klutch Sports represents Davis and Ben Simmons, and a deal centered on swapping his clients is highly unlikely.
