Danny Green is trusting the process with Ben Simmons. The newest member of the Philadelphia 76ers backcourt has made a name for himself as one of the more reliable shooters in the NBA and he is hoping that this rubs off on Simmons. Shooting has long been the Achilles heel of the two-time All-Star. Many feel that this facet has been holding him back from becoming a bonafide superstar.

Green is hoping his tutelage can help Simmons get over that hump. He told John Clark of NBC Sports that Simmons' shooting is more of a psychological issue.

“I just think he has to be at certain times more assertive and at certain times just be more patient. But, at the same time, trusting his abilities, not just with what he's good at doing but things that we know he's not used to doing. With shooting a jumper, I think he can shoot it pretty well. I've been trying to shoot a little more here and there but that's a process in itself. Hopefully, we get to learn the offense first, and then we'll figure out his comfortability within the offense and hopefully expand his game a little more.”

Simmons is averaging 15.3 points in their first four games this season but has yet to attempt a three-pointer.

Coming off back-t0-back championship stints with the Toronto Raptors and the Los Angeles Lakers, Green is bringing a ton of leadership and experience to the rather young Sixers unit. Simmons, being the team's main facilitator for the past few years has struggled with his shooting, which teams have fully taken advantage of.

Over the course of three seasons, Ben Simmons has only knocked down two of his 24 attempts for a miserable 8.3% clip. But Green, who's a 40% three-point shooter throughout his 11-year career, is looking to impart enough confidence in Simmons as they try to compete for an NBA title.
