Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown believes Sixers guard Markelle Fultz and his camp could be looking for “peace of mind” when they decided to see a shoulder specialist in New York.
Markelle Fultz is scheduled to visit a shoulder specialist within the next week and won’t participate in full practices or games until the specialist has had the opportunity to evaluate him.

“But obviously they want to get further consultation and learn as much as they can and more. And we will partner with them, we'll work with them and see what comes out of that next appointment.”
This is just the latest setback for Fultz, who only played in 14 games during his rookie season due to scapular muscle imbalance in his right shoulder. His sophomore campaign hasn’t been much better. The 20-year-old’s shot still has a nasty hitch to it, and he has airballed a couple of 3-pointers this season. Fultz’s free-throw routine has also caught the eye of many people throughout the basketball world.
In 19 games for the Sixers this season, Fultz is averaging 8.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists while shooting 41.9 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from beyond the arc and 56.8 percent from the free-throw line. The 6-foot-4 combo guard has no confidence in his shot, which is sad to see considering he was a fun and special player to watch at the University of Washington.
Hopefully, the shoulder specialist will be able to identify what the real issue is with Fultz.
