Several reports came down the wire on Saturday indicating that Jimmy Butler is on his way to Philadelphia to play with the Sixers. How the four-time All-Star will fit with his new team remains to be seen, but Sixers head coach Brett Brown says the process will require a bit of patience.

Butler, now 29 years of age, requested a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves weeks ago, but the team struggled to find a suitable trade partner. Either they found what they were looking for in Philadelphia's roster, or they were simply tired of the Butler saga.

As part of the deal, Minnesota will send Butler and Justin Patton to Philly. In return, the Sixers will send Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless and a 2022 second-round draft pick to the Timberwolves, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.

On paper, Butler should be a fine addition to Philly's rotation. The former Marquette Golden Eagle has played in 10 games this season, averaging 21.3 points on 47.1 percent shooting from the field (37.8 percent from beyond the arc), 5.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.0 block in 36.1 minutes per outing.

According to Charania, the Wolves and Sixers are expected to conduct a trade call on Monday to complete their transaction.

Heading into this week, the Sixers are carrying the 21st-ranked offense. Despite that fact, Philly is ranked No. 7 overall in ESPN's latest power poll.

The Sixers (8-6 and 2nd in the Atlantic Division) will be back in action on Monday night when they'll travel to Miami for a match-up against the Heat. Tip-off inside American Airlines Arena is set for 7:30 p.m. EST.
