Thanks in large part to the outstanding play of Jimmy Butler, the Sixers walked away from Thursday night's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a 108-104 victory. It was Philly's first win against the Thunder since Nov. 15, 2008, and only the second ever against the team since it relocated to Oklahoma City.

According to ESPN, Philly's win snapped a 19-game losing streak to the Thunder.

With Joel Embiid sidelined due to a knee ailment, the Sixers leaned on Butler's offensive prowess quite a bit in Thursday's game. In 37 minutes of action, the former Marquette Golden Eagle racked up 20 points on 9-of-20 shooting from the field, eight assists, eight rebounds and two steals.

Sixers head coach Brett Brown had high praise for Butler's game:

“There was an unselfishness,” Brown told ESPN during his post-game media availability. “I think that connects the dots to so many things. It's a very unselfish group, and I thought Jimmy Butler tonight, especially, went way out of his way to live by that standard we've set. He was our bell ringer tonight.”

Butler wasn't the only member of the Sixers who had a solid game. Tobias Harris scored 32 points and Ben Simmons posted his ninth triple-double of the season (11 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists):

In 40 appearances with the Sixers this season, Butler has recorded averages of 18.5 points on 47.7 percent shooting from the field (34.2 percent from beyond the arc), 5.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.9 steals in 32.9 minutes per outing.

Butler and the Sixers (40-22 and second in the Atlantic Division) will be back in action on Saturday night, when they'll welcome the Golden State Warriors to the Wells Fargo Center.
