Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid picked up a flagrant foul for hitting Toronto Raptors center Marc Gasol in the face while jostling for position on a free-throw attempt in Game 6 of their second-round series, and that flagrant will not be rescinded by the NBA, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps.
Because of this ruling, Embiid still has three flagrant foul points in these playoffs. One more flagrant foul point would result in a one-game suspension, and two more would mean a two-game suspension.
There was some belief that Embiid would have this flagrant rescinded, but that's not going to happen:

Embiid will only have to worry about a possible suspension if the Sixers upset the Raptors in Game 7 in Toronto. The Sixers bounced back from an ugly Game 5 loss in Toronto to dominate on their own home floor in Game 6, but winning another game up in Canada will be tough. Philly did steal Game 2 at Scotiabank Arena.
The Sixers will need Embiid to make a big impact like he did in Game 6, though they would surely welcome more scoring. The big man only had 17 points on 5-of-14 shooting in the 112-101 Game 6 victory, but Philly outscored Toronto by a whopping 40 points in his 36 minutes on the floor. He dominated defensively and had a couple highlight-reel blocks.
Game 7 is on Sunday afternoon.
