The Philadelphia 76ers had Joel Embiid (ankle) and Jimmy Butler (ribs) in the starting lineup against the New York Knicks on Sunday:

Embiid missed Friday night's 123-121 loss to the Atlanta Hawks with the ankle injury. He was a game-time decision against the Knicks, but he warmed up and was able to give it a go.

The Sixers missed Embiid's presence badly against the Hawks, allowing 55.6 percent shooting overall and 12-of-25 from 3-land. Second-year man John Collins dominated with 25 points and nine rebounds (six offensive), while center Dewayne Dedmon flirted with a triple-double with 19 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Atlanta grabbed 15 offensive rebounds and won the rebounding battle by 14 boards.

Butler tried his best to rescue the Sixers with 30 points, but he failed at the free-throw line in the waning moments after making his first 12 shots from the charity stripe. With a chance to tie the game, Butler missed the first attempt and then intentionally missed the second, and then Philly missed multiple follow-up opportunities to tie the game.

Butler suffered bruised ribs in the loss, a game in which he played 40 minutes.

The Sixers are 27-16 on the season and are looking to get right against a Knicks team that has been struggling in a big way.
