Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid believes he and Ben Simmons can share the floor and work in tandem as a superstar duo for the Sixers.
Embiid said Friday he has no interest in seeing the organization attempt to trade Simmons, saying he and the former No. 1 overall pick have grown closer through the years.

There were plenty of questions as to whether both players would be on the roster after Philly was swept in embarrassing fashion by the Boston Celtics.
Of course, the Sixers were without Simmons for the entirety of the series. But there was still a feeling significant overhaul was needed, including the roster.
Article Continues BelowIndeed, Philly fired former head coach Brett Brown and essentially established the fact Elton Brand would face a demotion. However, support for the Embiid-Simmons partnership has only grown stronger in recent months.
The Sixers hired Doc Rivers, who almost immediately stated his belief the team could win with Embiid and Simmons sharing the floor. Philly was then able to pry Daryl Morey away from teh Hosuton Rockets to come on as president of basketball operations.
Morey has since made the roster more friendly to Simmons' and Embiid's need to be surrounded by floor-spacers. He offloaded Al Horford's contract and acquired Danny Green in the process. Morey also swung a deal to land Seth Curry–one of the best shooters in the game–from the Dallas Mavericks, and used the team's first-round pick to select a quality secondary playmaker in Tyrese Maxey.
Ultimately, Philly's success will still rest with the dynamic between Embiid and Simmons. But the two stars might have better complementary pieces to make it work this year. Embiid certainly believes that is the case.
