The Philadelphia 76ers have already clinched a playoff spot for the first time in seven years, but they'll have to play the next few weeks without star center Joel Embiid.
In Wednesday night's game against the New York Knicks, Embiid collided with teammate and rookie Markelle Fultz on a handoff, resulting in what the team is calling a facial contusion for Embiid. He left the game, would not return, and was even taken to the hospital for precautionary exams. It's a good thing he was further examined, because a CT scan showed that Embiid suffered an orbital fracture on his left eye, and he also began exhibiting concussion-like symptoms.

He currently has no timeline to return, but one report said a return between two-to-four weeks is possible.
Article Continues BelowOn Thursday night, the ever-comical Embiid took to Twitter for the first time since his injury to let fans know that he's doing okay and to “Trust The Process.”
“I guess I gotta trust “The Process” that i've been preaching… Unfortunate freak accident but I'll be more than fine. Injuries jokes coming in 3,2,1 #TheProcess #Two-Face”

With the Sixers notorious for playing it safe with their young, injury prone stars, it would come as no surprise if Embiid has played his final game of the 2017-18 regular season. If that's the case, he will have finished playing 63 games and averaging 22.9 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game on 48.3 percent shooting from the field and 30.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
