As the Philadelphia 76ers continue their strong start to the season, the organization is trying to become stronger by the trade deadline. Doc Rivers and his team understand that they can bring in another piece that provides energy and hustle on both ends of the floor. As Raptors guard Kyle Lowry has been on the trade block, there is a possibility that the Sixers can pull a trade for Toronto.
At 34 years of age, Kyle Lowry continues to prove that he can still play at a high level. Since Kawhi Leonard left the Raptors behind, Lowry has been the leader to set the tone for the franchise. His 19.4 points averaged a season ago was the biggest piece in Toronto’s 53-19 record.
The Raptors haven't had the strongest start through two months of this season. They currently stand at 16-15 on the season and seem to want to go another route. As Lowry continues to get older, he must be placed in a position where he can help a team win another championship. For the Philadelphia 76ers to make a successful trade for a Lowry, they must find the right pieces to give up to secure the all-star.

As Lowry has an expiring contract of $30 million, the team will find a way to match the contract. The way that the Sixers can make a fair offer is to trade away some of their expiring contracts as well. Players like Danny Green, Mike Scott, and Terrance Ferguson are all becoming free agents by the end of this season. If the Sixers can trade the three of them along with a few future draft picks, it makes the trade successful to secure Kyle Lowry from Toronto.
The beauty of the trade from Toronto’s point of view is they acquire Danny Green, who won a championship with the Raptors in 2019. Green has averaged 8.8 points this season along with 38% from three. The 12-year veteran can potentially matchup with Fred VanVleet in the starting backcourt for Toronto.
If Kyle Lowry is acquired from Toronto, the trade takes Philadelphia to another level. The team should continue to place their younger players around guys who have championship experience. Lowry showed to be a huge part of the Raptors' 2019 NBA Finals victory over Golden State. As he still has a lot left in the tank, Lowry’s presence will be a major factor for Philadelphia in the postseason.
